Behaviour change begins with an employee’s awareness of their current state of being, their health risks and the opportunities to improve health and well-being. By providing a wide variety of interactive programs, employees are exposed to both general and targeted health information. Examples of workplace wellness awareness programs include: - Health tip emails
An easy way to ensure that all employees (regardless of their geographical location) have access to health promotion information. Quick and easy-to-read wellness “sound bites” are just what the doctor ordered!
- Wellness on the company intranet
Dedicating space to health information on the company website sends a positive message to employees about the importance of personal health. Health fairs can be a great “kick off” to launching a wellness initiative or become a regular event that provides convenient access to interactive health and wellness topics while introducing employees to community-based health services and products. Lunch time educational events provide employees with an opportunity to learn more about personal health issues, develop peer support for those sharing similar interests and can be a means to assess the need for more comprehensive programs on a particular topic. Often a great way to engage wellness volunteers and capture their creative flair in the design and creation of wellness bulletin boards using content carefully selected and following a thematic approach
Our Managing My Life programs can be used as self-study learning opportunities on the topics of managing health, stress, change and time. These workbooks are ideal for call centres, sales staff, home-office and other remote employees that may not otherwise be able to participate in onsite wellness activities. For more details, see our Managing My Life programs.
