Health observances and events for September. National Arthritis Month The Arthritis Society is Canada's only not-for-profit organization devoted solely to funding and promoting arthritis research, programs and patient care. On the ninth minute of the ninth hour of the ninth day of the ninth month, we ask the world to remember that during the nine months of pregnancy, alcohol can be very dangerous to the baby. We also ask the world to remember the millions of people worldwide who will struggle lifelong with intellectual disabilities caused by prenatal alcohol. Terry Fox Run - September 15 Terry Fox National School Run Day - September 26 A national fundraising opportunity for workplaces across Canada to raise money for cancer research. The Great Canadian Head Shave will see thousands of Canadians lose their locks for this important cause.
