Walking is a simple way to get employees moving as a means to stimulate their energy, intellectual creativity and reap a multitude of physiological benefits including:
- Improved muscle tone, bone strength, memory, immune function, HDLs (the good stuff), sexual performance, sleep, eye-sight, healing, and self-esteem.
- Lowered blood pressure, stress, LDL’s (the bad stuff) and, of course, weight.
A walking program founded on goals and motivational tools that support behaviour change will result in an easy and fun way to get your workforce moving. Our walking program consists of : - pedometers
- online step-tracking
- walking "challenges"
Pedometer-based Walking Our pedometers have been thoroughly tested for reliability and durability. They can be purchased individually online (click on word pedometer) or in bulk by your company or organization and provided to employees outright or on a cost-recovery basis (little or no capital outlay). Contact us to discuss bulk purchase discounts.
Walking “challenges” can help launch the program and encourage sustained behaviour change. Challenges can be designed to target individual participation or group walking competitions. Step-Tracking Online Tracking your progress is easy! Lewis-Daly & Associates has a web based system to make counting your steps fun and easy. Establish goals and track the walker's progress as they trek across Canada (alone or with a group). Select the standard program or customize a program with your company's logo, branding and get monthly reporting capability. - Standard program features include:
- Daily step record & cumulative step totals
- Graphs of your progress
- Daily step average over a chosen time period
- Calories burned while walking & calories appropriate for weight maintenance
